Talk Show Production

Talk Show

I recently filmed my first CCR media text, the talk show, I filmed with my dad as the talk show host as me as the guest, as my self introducing me and giving a behind the scenes of what went through making the film opening.

We set up a simple set in our guest room, with a desk and a few props to create a professional-looking talk show set. We then began the video by introducing ourselves and the topic of our talk show, which was the creation of my film opening.

Throughout the video, my dad and I discussed the challenges we faced during the creation of the opening scene, and the creative decisions we made to overcome those challenges. We also discussed our personal experiences and how they influenced our approach to the project.

The filming process allowed us to capture the critical reflection process in a unique and engaging way. By presenting our conversation as a talk show, we were able to share our insights and experiences in a way that was both entertaining and informative.

Overall, filming a critical reflection talk show with my dad about the creation of my film opening was a rewarding experience. It allowed us to delve deeper into the creative process and share our insights with others. I encourage other filmmakers to try this approach and see where it takes them. Who knows, you might just create a hit talk show!

Script for Podcast - CCR

 Podcast Script

Below is the script for podcast, I am the host giving some insight to the film opening. The podcast host gives a detailed description of the film opening while also giving an opinion on the opening as well. The connection between you and the audience is why people decide to listen to podcasts.

Script

[Intro music plays]
Host: Welcome to The Final Cut, the podcast where we talk about the latest movie releases, their plots, and behind-the-scenes stories. Today, we're going to be discussing a heart-wrenching film about a hockey player, who is preparing for the game of his life when he receives a phone call that changes everything
[Music fades out]
Host: The film opens with a shot of a hockey player, played by Joey Fresh, practicing his shots and skating around the rink. The scene is set, and we can feel the excitement in the air. The big game is coming up, and our protagonist is ready to take on any challenge.

[Sound of skates on ice]
Host: As the player takes a break from his practice, he receives a phone call that seems to shock him. The camera angle is a long shot to show his full emotions, and we can see the disappointment in his eyes. We are left with a boom signaling that something tragic just happened. We're left wondering what could have happened.

[Sound of phone ringing]
Host: The film then takes us through the player's emotional journey as he tries to balance his personal life and his passion for the game. We see him struggling to come to terms with the news he received on the phone, and it's clear that he's not in the right headspace to play in the upcoming game.

[Sound of heavy breathing]
Host: As the player tries to regain his focus, we see him battle his inner demons and fight to keep his mind on the game. The tension builds as we see him struggle through his emotions, and we're left wondering if he'll be able to overcome his personal struggles and perform on the ice.

 [Sound of audience cheering]
Host: I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but I will say that this film is an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The performances are outstanding, and the direction is top-notch.

[Music fades in]
Host: Now, let's talk about how this film challenges conventions and represents social groups or issues. The Shot, does an excellent job of highlighting the struggles that athletes face both on and off the ice. It tackles the pressure to perform, as well as the mental and emotional stress that comes with being a professional athlete.

Host: As for how this film engages with audiences, I believe it will resonate with anyone who has ever faced adversity in their personal or professional lives. The themes of determination and perseverance are universal, and I think many people will be able to relate to the struggles faced by the main character.

Host: In terms of distribution, I could see this film being released in theaters or on a streaming platform but first it may be best  for the team of The Shot starts off at film festivals first so that it can gain popularity by a community. It has the potential to reach a wide audience, and I think it would be well-received by critics and audiences alike.

Host: Finally, let's discuss how the production skills developed throughout this project. The team behind the film opening did an excellent job of creating a visually stunning film with powerful performances. The use of lighting, camera angles, and sound all helped to create a sense of tension and emotion that drew me into the story.

Host: As for the integration of technology, I think the use of online platforms like OneDrive was crucial to keeping the production running smoothly. The team was able to collaborate and share files seamlessly, even when working remotely.

[Outro music plays]
Host: That's all we have time for on this episode of The Final Cut. Make sure to tune in next week for more exciting film discussions. Until then, this is Maddox Peters signing off. Thank you for listening.

Talk Show Script - CCR

Script for one of the media projects

This is just a basic idea of what will be said in during recording, as I will try to have the script to where we can see it but not where it looks like I'm reading off a paper. I will be filming this with my dad. I will switch the camera shots so that only one of us is in the shot at a time, and so that I can film all my dads lines back to back.

My Script:

Host: Welcome to the Late at Night Talk Show, I am Keith Peters, tonight we'll talk about the creation of a film opening that shows a hockey player, Joey practicing his hockey skills before his big game, right before something tragic happens in his life. The person who created the film opening is here with me today. Let me introduce to you, Maddox Peters!

Maddox: Thank you Keith, it is honor to be with you here tonight. It is very special to be here to share with all of you my insight of the process of the film opening and what me and Joey had to go through to get this out to all of you.

Host: Let's start with how you product represents social groups or problems and uses or questions norms.

Maddox: Instead of concentrating on the external challenges of winning the game, the opening of our movie challenges the conventions of sports movies by highlighting the interior struggles of a hockey player. Because they are frequently ignored in popular sports movies, we wanted to examine the psychological and emotional elements of being an athlete. Our movie tackles the pressure and expectations put on young athletes, particularly in environments where there is a lot of competition.

Host: What a unique perspective on the sports field. Could you elaborate on how your product interacts with audiences and how actual media texts would distribute it?

Maddox: We wanted our movie's beginning to connect with viewers who might have encountered similar demands and expectations in their lives, even those that weren't related to sports. The universal topics of self-doubt and tenacity in our movie can connect with a wide audience. In order to reach a larger audience, we intend to distribute our movie through film festivals and internet streaming services.

Host: That is a really good idea. Let's talk about how this endeavor helped you hone your production abilities.

Maddox: As a team, we developed effective communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to play to our abilities in order to realize a common goal. In order to improve the narrative, we also improved our technical abilities, which included using various camera angles, lighting setups, and sound design. In order to portray Joey's emotional state during his practice, we tried with various methods, such as using slow-motion shots and altering the color grading to set a somber tone.

Host: That's amazing. Can you elaborate on how you incorporated software, hardware, and online tools into this project?

Maddox: We used online tools like Google Drive and Zoom for collaboration and communication, as well as programs like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere to edit the video and add effects. To record high-quality video and audio, we also used gear such as cameras, microphones, and lighting fixtures. To guarantee the highest quality, we made sure to use the appropriate tools for each shot.

Host: You appear to have employed a variety of technologies to realize your idea. Finally, can you tell us about any difficulties you had when creating this movie's opening?

Maddox: One of the difficulties we had was getting the proper video of the exercise. To acquire the greatest possible footage, we had to carefully consider our shot placement and anticipate Joey's actions. It was occasionally difficult for us to focus because of the rink's background noise and other distractions. However, with good planning and communication, we were able to get through these challenges.

Host: That is wonderful to hear. We appreciate the team's participation in today's discussion regarding the creation of our film's opening. We are eager to present it to audiences and see where it leads.

Maddox: Yes, it had been very great to speak with you tonight, and I hope that all of you get the chance to see it for your selves after hearing what went behind this process of being able to get this out to everyone. Thank you and goodnight!

Group Meeting 2

 Group Meeting Overview

Teamwork and cooperation require group meetings, which are even more important when working on a creative project like a movie. I recently participated in a group discussion where we talked about our film openings, our editing work, and our plans for critical reflection. I'll discuss my impressions and thoughts on this meeting in this blog entry.

First, we shared our work on editing our films to kick off the meeting. It was fascinating to observe how each group member had a different editing strategy and style. Others prioritized sound, while some were more visually oriented. It was fascinating to see how various editing methods could completely change the look of the same footage. While others still needed to finish editing, they still were able to give and retain knowledge from the meeting.

We talked about the editing process before moving on to our picture openings. Each of us had prepared a succinct summary of the first scene in our movie, which we presented to the group. This activity helped us get feedback on our artistic decisions and improved our comprehension of one another's artistic perspectives.

We explored the themes and motifs that we were trying to communicate through our films as we got more into talking about the openings of our films. The conversation was stimulating and gave us a better grasp of the underlying ideas we wanted to convey to our audience.

At the meeting's conclusion, we talked about our intentions for critical reflection. We agreed that it was critical reflection on our work that would help us find areas for narrative development. We also talked about the various different ideas that each group member came up with and how they were going to incorporate them into each of the two media projects.

In conclusion, this group meeting was a valuable learning opportunity that aided in the development of our editing abilities, the discussion of our creative goals and themes, and the organization of our critical reflection. It served as a reminder to me of the value of critical thought, constructive criticism, and group input in the creative process.
