Music Marketing Project Full Process

There were many steps and processes in this project from research to to planning then production then the presentation. These series of steps took a lot of time and hard work in order for the project to come out as it did.

Our first step in our project was that we got assigned a certain genre of music, and with that genre we were told to research other companies that correlates with bands of that genre.  We had to research two companies that were in business with two other bands of the genre we were given, and then had to research both of those bands for each company.

The next step was to brainstorm and plan what and how our presentation and music video was going to look like. Our first step in that was to choose what song we were going to make our music video of. Next we would think of the type of music video we wanted to do - we chose storytelling. With that we had to choose which type of story we wanted to create; we all came up with one idea each and then voted on which one we liked the best.  Next we would make the storyboard and then choose the angles and shots of the video.

Our next action was to come together and film the music video. This process took about two to three hours to complete. Although we created the shots list, we did not directly film the shots that were on the list we did change some of the shots as we thought it would look better in person, and also did add a lot of shots for it to be longer and have better atmosphere.

After we had recorded the music video one person from our group volunteered to edit the whole video. The whole editing process took around 6 to 7 hours to complete. The editing process was also changed from the storyboard as the person thought that the rearrangements of some of the clips would look better in a different time of the video.

And when our presentation came we volunteered to present first in order to set the tone for the rest of the presentations. We had each prepared for which slides we were going to present and when they were going to come up. Some of us had note cards for small details for what to say, not directly what to say but main points of each of the slides

In conclusion, our group learned that not everything we write down on paper does not have to be presented or captured, and is most likely to be changed throughout the process. I believe that all aspects of this project will connect directly to the portfolio project, especially with last minute changes that will be edited.
