Filming and post production schedule

Overview

So when I do start to film I do not think that It will take that long as I think, I believe that filming the whole film opening will take around 2 to 3 hours but I also have to prepare that shots will not be that good and have to retake these shots in order to fulfill what I see in my project. Making a schedule for my project should not be that long as I said that filming should only take a maximum of 3 hours, but what's after is what I am having to plan and schedule for. I do not have a planned date for me to start filming because then I would be on a more of a deadline for my project, which I do not want to be.

Schedule

Day for filming- Take around 2-3 hours and have time for retakes 

1-2 days after filming I will start to edit the video

Editing the video should maybe take around 3-4 days 

I would then look over the video and check if I reached the two minute mark and if I need to add or remove any scenes from my opening

If I do need to retake any shots I would do it at this time, because at around this time I would think would be near the due date for project and would have to retake these shots at this time then go back into the editing software and incorporate these new shots into the project

After that I would start to plan for my CCR, this would consist of what I would incorporate in my CCR and what my main points that I would try to make throughout.

Conclusion

So in overall I do believe that creating a schedule helps people tell them what they are supposed to be working on and how much longer that they will have for each of their projects or assignments. This schedule will especially help me because although that it is just a basic and simplistic schedule it will help tell me and realize what I am supposed to be working on when I have available time. 

Group Meeting

 In class today we went got in groups and went through our blogs and our ideas of our projects and received insightful feedback from my group members. When each member of the group was presenting their blogs I tried to listen to what they were doing differently than me in their blogs and how they are going to do their film opening. 

When we were sharing our first thoughts of our projects, I heard that some people have had some obstacles in the way of their planning part. They told me about these problems and how they were able to overcome them as I have. Although that each person individually had a different problem come across but have all found a solution for each of our projects. 

These group meetings will help me grow upon my project and how I will continue to improve and update it. Hearing what other people are doing differently than me helped me on what I can do better with my project and what I can add to it. So overall everyone can benefit from learning from peers and they can say negative or positive things about your project which helps me learn.

    

Inspiration

 Obviously, there are many movies I can draw inspiration from, but why not draw inspiration from one of the greatest hockey movies ever, Miracle (2004), and that is not only known to people who are interested in hockey as it is popular in all areas of sports. Its motivational and action aspects of the scene are important parts that I will try to incorporate in my opening.

I will use Miracles opening as inspiration as incorporating a sort of action scene where the player will interact with the ice and have some sort of interaction with someone outside of the ice that would have a emotional effect with the main character. 

Main Character... ME

A film revolves around the characters and how they act around certain situations and the environment.  The development of the character in a two minute time span does not give the audience much about the character and does not give that personal information about the character. While the main idea of my project is that the majority of the there is no dialogue, and the last 10 to 15 seconds it will be a short dialogue of the character interacting with the cellphone. 

    The characters colors will mainly be black, as that is the main colors of the characters hockey team and the main color of the gear that the character will use.

Got an Idea

 After a while I've finally come up with an idea for the opening of the movie. Although I do not know what the story is going to look like throughout the whole movie, I have an idea of what the beginning looks like. So first off we know that the main idea of the movie is going to be revolved around hockey and the main characters actions surrounding that topic. The beginning will start off with the main character (me) practicing for hockey and then from time to time the movie will cut to black and show the credits introducing the director, producer, main actor...etc. There will be various shots used throughout the whole opening and transitions so that it will flow a lot better. And after the all the credits play through the main character will get off the ice from practicing and receive a phone call that makes the character depressed but the call will not get revealed in the opening. Obviously this is just a summary of what the beginning is going to look like, while the storyboard will show me more clearly of what I want the opening to look like. 

Filming Locations

  When it comes to playing hockey in Florida many people say "There's no hockey in Florida" as many people only think of cold states or countries that have hockey, but they are wrong as there are many spots in South Florida that have hockey but hockey is overtaken by sports such as Football and Basketball. But when it comes to filming there are not that many spots to film hockey on ice as there are for many other projects which could make this topic a bit more difficult but I already know where to film all of my project and what times would be easily accessible for me to film on the ice.

     Pines Ice Arena is my best option for me because there is a certain time at 6:00 am where there are not as many people there so I could have a better chance at filming. There are other places such as Panthers Ice Den but that place is much more popular and would have much more people on the ice, which means no chance for me to film.

Genre and Main Idea

 So a couple days after thinking about what to do and I have thought about it for a while, and chosen to do a sports drama film. The sport that would be included in this film would be hockey. The reason for going the sports way and choosing hockey as my sport is mainly because I play it and it would be better do work on something that I know and not something that I would have just came up with. 

     The other main reason I wish to choose this topic is because since that I am working alone it is much easier to try and find a time to film on the ice. But over the next couple of days I will be posting about the filming locations, the storyboarding of the film, and the main characters that I will be incorporating within my film.
